Thursday, Friday, Saturday NOC Shift 1800-0630. $2 NOC Shift Differential

What you bring:

  • High School diploma or equivalent (e.g. GED, HiSET, etc.) required
  • Associate degree in nursing or social science field preferred.
  • One (1) year nursing experience required, preferably treating the mentally ill in an inpatient setting. (Clinical nursing school rotations may be substituted for a portion of work experience.)
  • One (1) year medication administration experience preferred.
  • Valid California LVN or LPT license required.

How you will make a difference

  • Provides direct nursing care and supervises same provided by all nursing staff on the shift worked.
  • Makes written or oral shift assignments and plans, organizes, and directs the nursing activities of the unit, assuring quality care delivery.
  • Visually and audibly observes, documents in writing, and reports orally or in writing the physical or mental condition to the Program Manager and the attending physician or nurse practitioner.
  • Orders, prepares, administers, and documents the administration of medication for clients according to physicians’ or nurse practitioners’ orders. Confirms delivery of all ordered medication from pharmacy on shift worked.
  • Responsible for writing a weekly summary on clients as assigned.
  • Monitors and maintains appropriate nursing documentation in the medical record for shift worked.

How you make a difference The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) provides assistance and collects data in the delivery of patient care in a correctional setting, utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. As part of this role, the LVN directs and guides patient teaching and activities in accordance with their education, demonstrated competencies, and the Nursing Practice Act (NPA).
