Short Description

The Registered RN is a professional care-giver who, as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame and who supervises and provides care to these patients utilizing the nursing process including the therapeutic use of self.

Follows established policies and procedures.
Communicates openly with internal customers and supervisors.
Provides excellent customer service interfacing well with all levels of staff, management and physicians.
Applies Cooper core values.

Current NJ-CNOR (Certified Nurse, Operating Room) preferred

A Brief Overview This is a part time shift schedule for the Bucks County Ambulatory Surgery Center . At least two years of pediatric Pre-Operative/Post-Operative RN experience is required. ACLS, PALS and BLS certifications also required. Practices at the level of a competent to proficient practitioner of pediatric, family- centered nursing. The nurse at this level demonstrates competence in the safe care for patients with complex problems. This nurse also demonstrates clinical leadership skills through contribution to standards of care and unit/organizational goals and uses the shared governance structure to actively advance patient care. Serves as a role model for the other staff and a preceptor for new employees. This nurse participates in endeavors to increase nursing knowledge including the use of evidence based practice and the development of research skills. Provides care in a cost effective manner. What you will do 1. Performs the duties and responsibilities of a pediatric perioperative nurse related to the pre-operative, intra-operative or post-operative phase of care including age appropriate physical assessment, effective case management, including age appropriate physical assessment, airway protection, effective pain management and teaching. 2. Practices in a professional manner which adheres to the Nurse Practice Act of the state in which the ASF is located. 3. Actively participates in the daily operations of the ASF. Chairs and/or participates in unit/departmental shared governance. 4. Maintains competency in all aspects of care, including the point of care testing program.
