Job Description
The Clinical Development Specialist (CDS) manages the onboarding and education process for new healthcare providers, ensuring a smooth transition into the organization. This role works closely with the Medical-Dental Staff Office (MDSO) and Provider Onboarding to coordinate credentialing timelines, training requirements, and system access. The CDS also supports annual training compliance and ongoing education for all providers.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Education, Human Resources, or related field, or equivalent experience. Experience working in provider onboarding, medical staff coordination, or education within a healthcare organization. Familiarity with credentialing processes and collaboration with a Medical-Dental Staff Office (or similar) strongly preferred.
Current Alabama RN license required. Current BLS/CPR certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of employment.

Job Description

Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Coordinate the end-to-end onboarding process for new providers, in collaboration with the Medical-Dental Staff Office (MDSO) and Provider Onboarding, to align credentialing and training timelines.
- Develop, deliver, and maintain onboarding and educational materials, including orientation sessions, clinical systems training, compliance content, and annual training modules.
- Assist with scheduling and tracking annual training requirements for all providers to ensure timely completion and regulatory compliance.
- Serve as the primary education and training point of contact for new providers, addressing questions and troubleshooting access or training-related issues.
- Work in partnership with MDSO, HR, IT, Compliance, and clinical departments to streamline onboarding and ensure all documentation, access, and education are completed prior to start dates.
- Utilize the Learning Management System (LMS) to assign, monitor, and report on provider training progress and completion.
- Track and maintain records of provider onboarding milestones and education compliance, escalating issues as needed.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement in provider onboarding, education, and compliance workflows.
- Support provider engagement initiatives by sharing relevant education resources and facilitating ongoing learning opportunities.
- Stay informed on relevant policies, accrediting body requirements, and industry best practices related to provider onboarding and education.
- Participate in committees or workgroups related to provider engagement, education, and credentialing.
