Clinical Decision Unit, CDU, at Willis-Knighton Bossier is looking for an energetic, caring, and hard -working individual for our 8-bed observation unit. This is a 12-hour, 0645-1915 day shift position with a rotating pattern, off every other weekend. Job duties include, but are not limited to: taking vital signs, assisting patients with personal care, turning & repositioning, transporting, and answering call lights. Must be able to prioritize job assignments and be a self-starter when you are working this unit. This position is not the same as a medical assistant. An applicant with a prior history of working in an acute care setting is preferred but not mandatory. Assist with the ordering and maintenance of stock items according to established inventory when needed. Keeps unit supplies in an organized and orderly fashion. Respond appropriately to emergencies. Communicate effectively with other team members during and between shifts. Responds to phone calls and patient call lights. Appropriately adapt assigned patient assessment, treatment, and/or care methods to accommodate the unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, age-specific, and other developmental needs of each patient served. Demonstrates competence to perform assigned patient care responsibilities in a manner that meets the population-specific and developmental needs of patients served by the department.
