Position Summary The Short Stay Unit (SSU) at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center (ARRMC) has 15 beds within a pre and post-surgical unit. We admit and prepare patients for various surgeries from open heart, GYN, urology, ENT and pediatric to name a few. As a dynamic nursing unit, we provide nurses the ability to make a difference while providing a comfortable and excellence surgical experience for our patients. In our unit, you will have an opportunity to learn and grow your nursing skills within a fast-paced and collegial team. With the ability to care for a variety of patients, from geriatric, adult to pediatric, you will educate, reassure, and provide compassion to our surgical patients. Position Summary Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center, located in Medford, is a 378-bed regional referral and level 2 trauma center featuring the latest medical technology and clinical expertise--all administered with a patient-focused philosophy. Our hospital team delivers nationally recognized heart and vascular care, orthopedic services, and cancer care, as well as a comprehensive range of other key services including neurology and neurosurgery, bariatric surgery, rehabilitation services, work health, diabetes care, hospice services, a primary stroke center, an accredited hospital-based sleep center, and the regions only neonatal intensive care unit. Our state-of-the-art Emergency Department at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center (ARRMC) sees an average of 130 patients a day. It is a level 2 trauma center. We have 39 rooms with 20 designated as high acuity, 5 moderate/low acuity, 4 Psych flex rooms and 5 Triage rooms. RN to patient ratios are: 1:1 - 1:4 depending on acuity. Key Responsibilities Working alongside a team of highly trained physicians, nurses, and techs to provide both efficient and excellent emergency care. Providing the upmost care to emergency room patients through stabilization and monitoring of current health conditions. Advising patients on their current condition and educating them on continued care. Quickly and safely assessing Emergency Room patients and prioritizing based on acuity measures. Position Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Experience Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department and/or Critical Care experience is required OR , Previous experience in one of the below is required; 9 Months of Clinical Decision Unit RN experience at Asante. Emergency Department Technician. Completion of practicum hours in an Emergency Department during nursing school. Previous EMS Licensure. Required Licensure/Certifications: RN: Registered Nurse licensed by Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN), upon start. BLS: Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider certified through the American Heart Association (AHA) , upon start. ACLS: Advanced Cardiac Life Support certified by American Heart Association (AHA) , upon start. PALS: Pediatric Advanced Life Support certified by American Heart Association (AHA) , upon start. TNCC: Trauma Nurse Core Course within 4 months of hire or equivalent for subsequent renewals . Requirement may be waived for short term emergency staffing needs if prior experience in area of specialty is adequate. Preferred Licensure/Certifications: CEN: Certified Emergency Nurse For New Graduate RN's ONLY (as defined by the hob description): if any additional certifications are required for the unit, as listed on the position qualifications, you have 4 months from your hire date to acquire them. (BLS and RN are still required at the date of hire for all RN's). Position Summary The Cardiac Center is a combined unit with 40 beds in our Heart Center and 12 in our Outpatient Observation Unit. Nurse to patient ratios are 4:1 - 6:1 for the Heart Center and 3:1 - 4:1 for the Outpatient Observation Unit. The staff on these units are very engaged in a Shared Governance model of leadership.
