About the Opportunity:

Gastro Health is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) to join our private practice team in Alexandria, Virginia. Our APPs play an active part in delivering high-quality GI care by coordinating individualized treatment plans under physician supervision and engaging in clinical responsibilities that help drive high-quality, patient-centered care.

We welcome APPs who want to grow their expertise in gastroenterology within a practice model that values clinical autonomy, work-life balance, and long-term career growth. Work collaboratively with a team of 4 gastroenterologists and support staff
Monday through Friday schedule: 8AM to 5PM
Average 14-18 patient encounters per day
Outpatient consults and follow-ups

Candidate Requirements:

Active Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in the state of Virginia
National certification as an NP or PA with prescriptive authority
Bilingual: English and Spanish (required)
Minimum of 1 year of APP experience required
GI experience preferred

Responsibilities What You'll Do: We are hiring a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant who will direct, coordinate, and provide medical/clinical services to specified individuals (youth and adults) within the facility, including, but not limited to intervention, psychiatric evaluation and assessment, differential diagnosis, treatment planning, medication management, engagement, family meetings, supportive psychotherapy, individual education, risk assessment, and discharge planning. Oversees delivery of medication education and consent, according to established policy. Orders laboratory tests according to standards of clinical practice. Reviews the health assessment completed by nursing staff, obtains a past and current medical history, and conducts a focused physical examination as indicated, according to established guidelines. Initiates contact with Primary Care Physicians and Emergency Room clinicians according to established guidelines.
