The Physiatrist is responsible for providing direct patient clinical care and managing medical problems of rehabilitation medicine patients.  The physician leads the interdisciplinary team to improve efficiency and facilitate continuum of care for patients from admission to discharge.  This continuum of care includes the acute medical rehabilitation unit, hospital based acute care, and outpatient rehabilitation.  The physician will carry out assigned duties displaying the highest standards of ethical and moral conduct as well as acting in the best interest of GHMC and Garnet Health Doctors, supporting our mission, vision and values to optimize the health and well-being of our patients.  The position is responsible for supporting the clinical excellence of all rehabilitation services and for supporting the development of programs aimed at meeting quality measures and population health management requirements.

Garnet Health System provides a compensation range to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The range for the role is $328,274 through $411,692 annually. The range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits. When determining a team member’s compensation and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity).

Position Description

• M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited school of medicine with ABIM-recognized IM residency required
• Formal Residency/fellowship in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation preferred
• NYS Medical License, valid and unrestricted required
