DESCRIPTION
We’re seeking a compassionate and skilled Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide mental health services to residents in long-term care and nursing home facilities. This is a rewarding opportunity to bring impactful psychiatric care to an often-overlooked population.
Why You'll Love This Role:
Make a Lasting Difference – Provide essential mental health services to geriatric patients, many of whom have limited access to psychiatric care.
Flexible Schedule – Enjoy autonomy over your calendar with options for part-time, full-time, or PRN coverage. Perfect for work-life balance.
Regional Travel with Variety – Cover multiple facilities throughout the region — no two days are exactly the same, and you'll enjoy a change of scenery.
Collaborative Care Model – Work closely with medical directors, nursing staff, and social workers to create well-rounded care plans.
Clinical Autonomy – Practice independently with the support of administrative and clinical leadership. No micromanagement.
Low-Stress Environment – Skip the chaos of hospitals and enjoy a calmer, more predictable day-to-day in post-acute and long-term care settings.
Low-Acuity, High-Reward – Manage stable, chronic mental health conditions in a supportive environment.
Competitive Compensation – Strong pay structure with real growth potential.
Comprehensive Benefits (Full-Time Only) – Full-time hours come with a comprehensive benefit package including major medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with match, paid time off, and more.
Meaningful Relationships – Build trust and continuity with a steady panel of patients — your presence will be valued and respected.
Multiple Locations Available – Opportunities across several facilities to match your commute preferences or coverage areas.
Responsibilities:
Conduct psychiatric evaluations and routine follow-ups
Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications
Collaborate with facility staff and family members
Document care in accordance with regulatory standards
Provide compassionate, trauma-informed care
Qualifications:
Certified PMHNP (Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner)
Active, unrestricted state license
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Experience with geriatric or long-term care populations preferred, but not required
