Department Highlights
- 12 bed unit with 1 to 4 ratios. We are a Level IV Trauma Center that cares for emergent cases that provides quality care to the Stephenville, TX and surrounding areas. Chest pain certified and stroke certified.
- Our team is like a family and works together like no other to provide compassionate care to our patients. Challenges – rural -sometimes you are busy/sometimes you arent’ – working with traumas – no additional resources.
- Rural ER – no other hospital so can handle a lot of different traumas/high acuity. – even pediatrics and geriatrics and all walks of life. Horse, farming, atv and drowning accidents.

Here’s What You Need
- Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
- Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire required
- 1+ years as an RN or completion of an RN residency program required.
- BCLS – prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
- ACLS – within 90 days required
- PALS – within 90 days required
- CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – within 90 days of hire
- TNCC and ENPC – within 12 months of hire required
- Current ED strongly preferred
- Charge nurse and preceptor experience preferred
- demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
- maintain a positive, customer-focused attitude toward patients
- possess a strong work ethic and always display a high level of professionalism
- have basic computer skills using medical management application systems
Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
- assesses the patient
- plans the care of the patient
- intervenes as appropriate
- evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
- Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
- Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
- Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers
