Penn Medicine Princeton Health  is currently seeking a full time Clinical Nurse 1 in the Operating Room . This position is for a new to practice RN. Starting in August 2026.

Penn Medicine Princeton Health has 3 procedural areas

  • Main operating room: 13 operating rooms
    • 3 robot capable rooms
    • 1 interventional/hybrid operating room
  •  Ambulatory Surgery Center (MAP)
    •  5 operating rooms
    •  
  • Monroe Ambulatory Surgery Center (offsite) 
    •   4 operating rooms

The Periop 101 program is a structured, evidenced- based, hybrid training program that includes didactic instruction with hands-on learning to prepare participants for perioperative nursing practice. The program is designed to completed in 7 months and includes:

· One week of hospital/nursing orientation

· Six-eight weeks of classroom learning (7:00AM-3:PM Monday and Wednesday)

· Residents only: 8 residency seminars throughout the first year of orientation

· Residents only: 12 weeks of TFKT (Meet with residency coordinators every Thursday)

· One week of relief/night shifts

· One weekend shift with a preceptor

· One day shift with the charge nurse

· 16 weeks of clinical rotations (5x8 hr shifts/week) including:

o Two weeks each in General, Plastics, Ortho General, Joints, Uro/Gyn, Neuro/Spine

o Three weeks in robotics

o One week in VTEP (Vascular, Thoracis, ENT, Pain)

    *Program is subject to be adjusted by leadership or education at any time

    Summary:

    The Clinical Nurse 1 New to Practice/Apprentice is a newly licensed new-to-practice RN or RN with less than 15 months of experience thatdemonstrates basic safe practice within the organizational professional practice model.The Clinical Nurse 1 New to Practice/Apprentice seeks guidance to integrate concepts, knowledge, skills and attitudes to meet standards forcompetent professional nursing practice as specified in the Clinical Nurse 1 New to Practice/Apprentice position description.The Clinical Nurse 1 New to Practice/Apprentice exhibits PMPH organizational behavioral competencies which reflect its mission and areembedded in the professional practice competency domains.The Clinical Nurse 1 New to Practice/Apprentice is accountable for the provision of direct care to patients who may range in age from infancy tothe elderly and demonstrates within the competency domains of Continuous Quality Improvement, Evidence Based Practice and Research,Leadership, Person and Family Centered Care, Professionalism, Safety, Teamwork, and Technology/ Informatics (Definitions listed below).The Clinical Nurse 1 New to Practice/Apprentice works closely with the interprofessional health care team to facilitate the coordination of careacross the continuum. The nurse focuses on developing the knowledge and skills necessary to provide individualized care based on physical,psychosocial, cultural, educational, safety, and age-appropriate considerations of assigned patients.The Clinical Nurse 1 New to Practice/Apprentice requires consultation with more experienced clinicians and benefits from feedback whiledemonstrating growth in the ability to care for increasingly complex patients. The nurse demonstrates how nursing practice impacts theorganizational vision, mission, and goals and the care delivery system.     Job Description: Clinical Hospice Liaison Position Title: Clinical Hospice Liaison Position Summary: The Clinical Hospice Liaison serves as the clinical expert in the pre-admission process, assessing potential patients for hospice eligibility and coordinating a smooth and compassionate transition to hospice care. This position plays a crucial role in educating patients, families, and healthcare providers on the hospice benefit. Key Responsibilities: Perform clinical assessments of referred patients to determine hospice eligibility. Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and hospital discharge planners to coordinate timely referrals and admissions. Provide education to patients and families on the hospice philosophy, services, and expectations. Document all assessments, communication, and coordination efforts accurately and timely. Assist in completing necessary clinical and administrative documentation for admission. Serve as a clinical resource to the marketing and business development team.     Job Details Description Position Summary: Utilizes the nursing process to provide and direct primary nursing care to patients with cardiovascular/pulmonary/vascular health deficits, in whom outcomes may be unpredictable to perform comprehensive assessment, planning, intervention and/or evaluation of complex multisystem health care deficits; to direct the nursing care of unstable patients or patients requiring complex care management. Handles multiple demands and tasks simultaneously, demonstrating clinical problem solving skills. Is supported by the Director of Critical Care Nursing, Clinical Team Leader and charge nurse in assuming unit leadership roles including, but not limited to, serving as the Charge Nurse, committee leadership and/or involvement, conducting unit orientation and education; directs and guides the use of resources for patient care. Experience: Preferred: Two years’ experience in critical care nursing to work in critical care units. Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation, IV Therapy Certification, Hemodynamics, and Mock Code Work Shop within 90 days of hire or promotion -or- at the first available course offering.
