Minimum Requirements:
Education & Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent
Required Licenses/Certifications: Certification and/or equivalent experience required
Work Experience: Minimum 3 years current OR experience. Previous experience with Meditech preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Accountable for obtaining quotes for instruments and equipment for the OR.
- Evaluates current and new systems/equipment for use in OR in collaboration with the nurse manager
- Evaluates like equipment/instruments from different companies for quality, durability, and service
- Sends instruments and equipment out for repair to appropriate companies following hospital guidelines.
- Demonstrates interdepartmental interpersonal relationship skills, Works effectively with management and staff.
- Makes recommendations for need of capital equipment
- Implements/maintains an automated system.
- Controls operating room inventory – direct and outside.
- Complies with accreditation and regulatory bodies and commissions in relation to OR materials management
- Monitors equipment control including maintenance and repairs in collaboration with the biomedical engineer.
- Supports Charge Specialist for patient charging
- Supports sterile processing
- Management of recalls and device notifications for surgery department
- Responds to materials management and billing concerns
- Assists in preparation of material and service budget.
- Coordinate all quotes for equipment/instrumentation/supplies for new surgeons for purchase
- Maintains operating room environment, performs walk through checking for damage, etc.
- Coordinates orders through purchasing department
- Collaborates with nurse managers to negotiate competitive pricing with vendors
- Develops a system for inventory management and oversees quarterly inventories
- Attends all meetings and trainings as required
- Attends all mandatory education programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety and regulatory compliance.
- Attends all required department-specific education and training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to department safety and specific job‑related hazards.
- Demonstrates proper body mechanics in all functions.
- Wears proper identification while on duty.
- Performs other duties as assigned
