Responsibilities Administers chemotherapy, hydration, and other medications under the direction and supervision of a physician Assesses and monitors therapy of patients using appropriate technical skills under the direction and supervision of a physician Assesses patients for changes in condition, including but not limited to abnormal labs, x-rays, scans and drug reactions. Initiates appropriate action. Performs venipuncture, accesses implanted ports and maintains central venous access devices and alternate delivering systems Maintains efficient and appropriate patient flow Phone triage as assigned Documents all elements of care Serves as a resource to the Medical Assistants Communicates all pertinent information and any interventions to the physician or advanced practice provider Assesses patient and family needs Qualifications Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education required; BSN preferred Oncology experience strongly preferred Current RN state license required Current BCLS certification required OCN certification preferred Must be willing to travel between offices as needed WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Registered Nurse (RN) Infection Prevention - Full Time

Hampton, Virginia This position will help support our Riverside Mental Health and Recovery Center along with system wide needs. Overview Responsible for monitoring the healthcare environment for appropriate Infection Prevention practices. Collects, analyzes and reports data concerning hospital-acquired infections, isolation procedures and appropriate control measures. Conducts education related to Infection Prevention. Conducts an ongoing assessment of infection prevention activities and assists with the revision of processes, procedures and policies, as necessitated by evidence-based practices or regulatory guidelines. Participates in both facility specific and system-wide performance improvement initiatives. What you will do Reports communicate diseases to the health department, as required. Demonstrates the ability to build trusting collaborative relationships with a multi-disciplinary team to support patient care needs. Actively participates in multi-disciplinary team meetings. Demonstrates knowledge of and the ability to apply evidence-based guidelines and standards and regulatory standards (CMS, DNV-GL, OSHA, etc.) when assessing the environment, observing patient care activities and processes, developing policy and procedure and educating staff and physicians across the continuum of care. Ensures correct isolation procedures are practiced. Conducts EOC audits. Provides feedback and guidance to leaders regarding infection prevention issues. Develops or assists in the development, implementation and evaluation of the Infection Prevention Plan.
