Reports To: Clinical Supervisor

Job Summary

 As an intern, the position participates in a multi-disciplinary treatment team in the care of children.

Staff members are expected to work with children and families, community partners and each other using KVC values of Respect, Accountability, Integrity, Open Honest Communication, Team Work and Continuous Improvement. Additionally, staff members are expected to be a role model for children and families, be solutions focused and build upon their strengths. KVC policies employees are also expected to maintain knowledge of, and adhere to all company policies and procedures.

Other duties may be assigned according to qualification of staff and development of programs.

  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining good relationships with appropriate boundaries with Children

  • Role models positive behaviors and coping skills for children in care using a strength based approach in all interactions

  • Operate according to KVC’s model of care and program operations manual

  • Function within agency’s policies and procedures as outlined in employee handbook and in applicable treatment plans

  • Completes required paperwork (i.e. logs and reports) and other relevant documentation

  • Achieves positive outcomes for youth

  • Maintains the safety and security of the children in car and attends to their needs in a nurturing way

  • Provides complete documentation as required

  • Assists in the planning, scheduling and implementation of on-site and offsite activities

  • Attends team meetings, departmental, treatment and planning meetings and other information sharing meetings in regards to clients

  • Conducts self in a professional manner with children, coworkers, parents, and referral sources

  • Completes required training

  • Participates in special program components

  • Performs all other duties as assigned by KVC

Qualifications:

Education:
High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) from an accredited high school.

Licensure/Certification:
Valid driver’s license.

Experience:
Experience working with children and families; currently working toward a degree in social work, psychology, or another related field.

Job Summary and Qualifications The Nurse Extern delivers high quality, patient-centered care by performing a variety of delegated basic patient care services related to common nursing functions and activities of daily living. Under the supervision of the registered nurse (RN), the Nurse Extern assists the nursing staff in providing patient care in accordance with the Nurse Extern’s skills/training and the needs of the Department, and consistently assists the patient care team with maintaining a clean, well-organized, and safe patient care environment. The Nurse Extern is currently enrolled and in good standing in an accredited school of nursing and can perform higher-level procedures once competency is achieved. Post orientation and clinical skills check off, nursing students receive hands on experience working with a Registered nurse performing more nursing skills.
