Position Overview:

As a CSFA, you will play a distinctive role in our surgical team. In addition to your technical skills, we expect you to bring a unique creative perspective to the operating room. Your role goes beyond traditional surgical assisting to introduce solutions and experience to enhance patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide traditional surgical assistance, including retracting, suturing, and maintaining a sterile field.
Collaborate with surgeons to develop creative solutions to complex surgical challenges.
Apply techniques to enhance surgical procedures.
Contribute innovative ideas to improve patient care, safety, and outcomes.
Stay current with the latest surgical advancements and creative approaches in healthcare.
Inspire and mentor colleagues by sharing your creative insights and techniques.
Adhere to strict infection control, safety, and quality assurance standards.
Provide operating room support to physicians and surgeons, including assisting surgeons during procedures and passing require instruments during surgery.
Comply with all HIPAA rules and regulations.
Communicates effectively and courteously with visitors, physicians, and their office staff, patients, and employees. Maintains patient, physician, and employee privacy and confidentiality per policy.
Complies with Policies & Procedures and adheres to safety guidelines to ensure a safe work and patient care environment.
Serves as a resource to other members of the health care team.

Required Skills:

Minimum HS Diploma required
Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) required.
Current BLS certification.
Ortho experience preferred.
Proven experience as a Surgical Assistant, with a creative portfolio of surgical accomplishments.
Strong technical skills in surgical procedures and instrumentation.
Exceptional artistic and creative abilities, with a track record of applying creativity to healthcare.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think outside the box.
