A specialized opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide dedicated care in a school environment in Barberton, OH, from April 6 through May 20, 2025, with additional Extended School Year (ESY) coverage. This contract position supports a unique 1:1 caseload, offering a deeply impactful role working with a 12-year-old female student in the 5th grade at a middle school.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering skilled tracheostomy care and managing oxygen dependency
  • Assisting a wheelchair-bound student who uses eye-gazing for communication
  • Monitoring health needs throughout the school day, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to approximately 2:30-3:00 PM
  • Coordinating with transportation as the student rides the bus home, ensuring a seamless care transition
  • Flexibly accommodating days when the student is absent, which may occasionally extend up to a week

Required qualifications:

  • Valid Ohio Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Proficient experience with tracheostomy care and managing oxygen support
  • Comfort working in a school setting with pediatric clients who have complex medical needs
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, therapists, and family members
