A contract opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse experienced in school settings to provide one-on-one nursing care for a student in Barberton, OH. This role is Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to approximately 2:30-3:00 PM, from April 6 to May 20, 2025, with additional coverage during Extended School Year (ESY).

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing specialized nursing care for a 12-year-old female student in 5th grade at the middle school level
  • Managing tracheostomy care and oxygen dependency
  • Assisting with mobility and communication, supporting the student as she is wheelchair-bound and uses eye gazing to communicate
  • Monitoring health status during school hours and accommodating care on days when the student is absent from school
  • Collaborating with school staff and participating in transportation routines as the student rides the bus to school

Qualifications:

  • Current Ohio Registered Nurse (RN) License
  • Experience with tracheostomy care and managing oxygen-dependent patients
  • Comfort and flexibility with variable attendance due to student absences
  • Ability to provide compassionate, attentive care in an educational setting
