POSITION OVERVIEW:

Under direction from Providers, Acute Care Director and Charge Nurse, the Registered Nurse delivers care to patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. Nurse Graduate Pipeline Program: The Nurse Graduate Program is a temporary position lasting no longer than six (6) months and is not benefits eligible. After completing this program/orientation, Pipeline RNs will be placed in open RN positions within the organization. The Nurse Graduate Program has been initiated within the Nursing Resources Department (Float Pool) to provide an opportunity for new nursing graduates to join Frederick Health Hospital and prepare for job openings within the system. Nursing graduates will work alongside and under the supervision of a Registered Nurse Preceptor throughout the entire orientation to enhance clinical skills. • The orientation consists of a 12-16 week curriculum with an opportunity for extension if mutually agreed by the clinical preceptors and manager. • • Schedules will be based on the assigned clinical preceptor. • • Candidates should be prepared to float throughout the hospital with their preceptor. • • Clinical schedules should always follow the clinical preceptor work schedule and offer 32-40 hours per week of proctored clinical experience. Graduate Nurse Tech - 7p-7a

Job Responsibilities Under the guidance of a preceptor, delivers competent and compassionate nursing care to assigned patients. Provides nursing care in accordance with established standards of care policies and procedures. Assesses patient care needs, establishes priorities and delegates tasks to ancillary support staff as appropriate. Ensure patient information documentation and assessments are completed in a timely manner according to charting guidelines and effectively uses provided technology for patient care delivery and documentation. Serves as a patient advocate by communicating clinical concerns in a timely manner to other members of the healthcare team, seeking assistance as needed. Observes and performs procedures, patient personal care, and/or activities of daily living and transporting of patients with oversight by Nurse Preceptor. Supervised by a Nurse Preceptor. Administers and assists with treatments ordered by physician and Triage patients and obtain vital signs. Provides patient care in the provision of routine hygienic, nutritional, and comfort needs of patients such as, but not limited to: bathing, distributing fluids and nourishments, feeding, ambulating, changing bed linens, oral care, grooming, shampooing hair, toileting, etc. Executes nursing interventions within appropriate scope of practice in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, incorporating appropriate standards of care, practice, and patient outcomes. Follows and meets the CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act 1988) requirements. May receive and screen visitors and telephone calls and handle general inquiries. Communicates clearly with patients, families, physicians and other healthcare team members in person, telephone, and/or email. Assists with the maintenance of supplies and equipment. Other duties assigned. Education Requirements Minimum: Recent graduate from an accredited nursing program, eligible to sit for NCLEX exam. Experience Requirements Minimum: None Strongly Preferred: One (1) year experience in a hospital or long-term care setting License / Certification Requirements Basic Life Safety (American Heart Association)
