The RN Responsibilities Include

Independently caring for a sub-specialty group of patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
Delegating appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team.
Professional accountability and development according to best practice standards set forth by a nationally recognized specialty organization
Performing the role of preceptor and charge nurse when assigned

Qualifications

Certifications and Licensures:

BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification is required
RN (Registered Nurse) license is required
ACLS Certification, if required by department
Nurse Specialty certification is preferred

Education

Associates degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma is required
Bachelors degree in Nursing is preferred

Experience

2 years of RN experience is required. At least 1 year of RN experience in pre-op is preferred.

ABOUT US: Eleos (formerly PEMHS) is a private, non-profit behavioral healthcare organization located in Pinellas County, Florida. Programs include a 24-hour suicide hotline, emergency screening, and crisis intervention services, inpatient services for adults and children, and community-based programs. We are a designated receiving facility for Baker Act admissions, which includes individuals who are a threat or harm to themselves or others. The Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) is designed to provide quality, comprehensive care for those in the community who are in need of stabilization in a structured, secure setting. Separate facilities which provide brief, intensive services for adults and children in crisis that include diagnoses, medication, and health education, as well as individual and group therapies, recreational activities, and discharge planning. The program is designed to assess the need for current treatment and symptom alleviation. The program is not intended to provide an alternative placement when criteria for admission and/or evaluation is no longer being met. The goal of the program is to return the individual to their home or to the least restrictive setting availability. JOB FUNCTION: Oversees the nursing staff and overall operations of three mental health crisis stabilization units (CSUs) serving both juvenile and adult clients. Duties and responsibilities include: Supervising all nursing staff. Maintaining high standards of care for all clients in compliance with applicable laws (e.g. Baker Act). Recruiting, training and onboarding new nursing staff. Implementing and enforcing new and existing policies and procedures. Directing the agency-wide infection control program. Managing patients’ data and medical records as confidential records. Communicating with doctors, patients and family members about client health.
