We are Looking for:


We are looking for a professional and courteous Patient Service Representative to join our Dermatology clinic located at 2211 Norfolk St. Houston TX 77098. As the first point of contact for our patients, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, coordinating financial responsibilities, and ensuring that our patients have a positive experience when they visit our facility. 


Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and welcoming manner
  • Verify patient information, including insurance coverage and personal information
  • Collect co-pays and other fees from patients at the time of service
  • Ensure the referrals are in the patient's chart before the patient comes in
  • Maintain patient records and ensure that they are accurate and up to date
  • Count cash box and complete cash reconciliation forms. Once close is completed, sign off on EBO report and cash reconciliation
  • Handle patient complaints and resolve issues in a professional manner
  • Perform other administrative tasks as needed

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of College/University is a plus
  • Must have availability to begin work at 7:00 AM
  • Experience in a medical office or customer service environment preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer applications
  • Ability to type 65 words per minute (minimum 55 wpm)
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance billing preferred

We are Looking for: Someone who is an experienced Medical Assistant for a multispecialty medical practice. The medical assistant should perform a supportive role in delivering comprehensive care to the patient that is safe, effective, and efficient. Responsibilities: Rooming the patient Interview/update patient’s chief complaint, medical history, medication list, and take vitals. Prepares patient charts a week in advance and verifies benefits reports. Scanning documents to appropriate patient charts. Makes sure all rooms are stocked and clean before clinic, after each patient, and at the end of the day. Refill patient medications as directed by a physician and obtain Pre-Authorization/Determination for medications. Ensures that physician is in-network and authorized/up-to-date referral is in the patient's chart. Assist the physician in the exam room with any wound care and/or procedures. Follow up on calls/voicemails and document phone log/conversation Educates and informs the patient of any DI, labs, referrals, and procedures physicians might have ordered. Schedules patients for upcoming appointments after the physician sees the patient. Obtains authorization prior to sending any orders when needed. Job Description  Conduct patient registration, which includes securing required paperwork and insurance documentation, and verification of insurance and patient eligibility.  Process co-pays and schedule patient appointments for assigned center.  Coordinate provider referrals to assigned Specialist.  Answer patient questions regarding their care and keep them informed of their status.  Inform technical staff of patient flow.  Prepare patients for examination, which includes conducting interviews to verify patient information, record medical history; confirm purpose of visit;  Perform preliminary physical test (blood pressure, weight, temperature, etc.) for vital signs and escalate critical cases to provider as needed.  Conduct point of care testing as needed (i.e., flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG); and provide patient information to provider.  Responsible for stocking supplies and maintenance of exam rooms, front desk, and reception area; ensure providers have medical supplies needed.  Responsible for completing order sheets to maintain supply inventory levels; regularly check expiration dates on supplies.  Responsible for maintenance of medical records and scanning charts to patient files.  Answer phone calls, collect and sort daily incoming and outgoing postal correspondence  Ensure reception is well maintained  Conduct courtesy call-backs for patient follow-up.  Perform opening and closing duties, which includes cashing out, end-of-day communication, and securing the building.  Follow operating instructions to perform and document daily controls and calibration of equipment; maintain Quality Assurance/Quality Control logs for equipment troubleshoot breakdowns, perform preventive maintenance, and submit repair tickets as needed.  Other patient care responsibilities as defined in the Medical Assistant Guideline document.  All other duties as assigned.
