Position Overview

The Illinois Department of Corrections is looking to hire a highly organized and detail-oriented Licensed Practical Nurse, PN -Corrections. This position will be responsible for performing direct nursing care to individuals in a correctional facility. The successful candidate shall demonstrate a valid Illinois License and good oral and written communication skills, be a self-starter, and be able to carry out nursing pursuant to the direction of medical personnel in a correctional setting. Essential Functions

Makes rounds with physician to monitor and report on patients’ progress.
Examines, recognizes, and interprets symptoms of patients.
Orders medical and other supplies.
Prepares and administers medication within the limits of authority.
Participates in completing orientation and in-service training of employees.
Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires Illinois license as a Practical nurse.
Requires one (1) year of practical nursing experience.
