Your role with us
As a certified nursing assistant (CNA) in the Infusion Center at West Valley Hospital, you play a vital role in delivering safe, compassionate and individualized care. Your responsibilities include performing approved clinical tasks competently, monitoring and reporting changes in patient conditions, and assisting with daily care needs while respecting each patient's age-specific and personal needs. With a supportive, patient-centered approach, you promote comfort, autonomy, and dignity throughout the infusion care experience.
What you'll do
- Provides direct personal care, observes and reports patient condition changes, and supports age-appropriate, patient-centered care.
- Accurately documents patient information using approved medical terminology and demonstrates proficiency with electronic and downtime documentation systems.
- Maintains a safe environment by adhering to infection control policies, proper equipment handling, and safe lifting and transfer techniques.
- Adapts schedule and duties to meet unit needs, including assisting with errands, stocking, and maintaining clean workspaces.
- Floats to other units as needed, assists in training new staff, and follows state CNA standards and competencies.
- Assists with scheduling patients when primary scheduler is unavailable.
Required qualifications
- Active Certified Nursing Assistant Licensure (CNA).
- Active Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
Additional information
- Acute care experience preferred.
- CNAs in the Women's and Children's department are required to demonstrate competency in specialized skills, based on unit specific needs, prior to completing orientation.
