Join us in the exciting, innovative, and rewarding environment of the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources (KDFWR)! This is a seasonal position at Camp Currie within the Information and Education Division.

The Registered Nurse will perform medical treatment and administer medications, as prescribed, to campers and staff. Intervenes when emergency care is required. Promotes health maintenance and prevention of illness for campers and staff at Conservation Camp. Works in a conservation summer camp for young people. Duties are performed in a rustic setting and most of the time are spent outside. May be called upon to work with young people attending the camp during the evening hours.

This is an Interim position. An Interim position means a position established to address a one-time or recurring need of less than nine (9) months duration and exempt from the classified service under KRS 18A.115.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To, The Following

  • Maintains licensure for the length of employment to perform medical treatment and administer medications, as prescribed, to Camp Webb campers and staff. Intervenes when emergency care is required. Promotes health maintenance and prevention of illness for campers and staff at Conservation Camp Webb.
  • Maintains essential documentation in medicine administration logs, medical treatment logs, and incident logs/reports as medication is administered to campers and/or staff, medical treatment is performed on campers and/or staff, and incidents occur which required a response by a medical professional.
  • Supervises, teaches, delegates, and oversees other personnel in the performance of nursing care activities such as Camp Director.
