Job Description
Collin County is seeking candidates for the position of Nurse (RN) for the STD program. The Nurse (RN) position in the STD Clinic assists physicians and nurse practitioners/physician assistants in the testing and treatment of STDs for men and women. STDs tested and treated include chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, trichomoniasis, as well as testing and treatment referrals for HIV. Treatment and care will be provided in the clinical setting. Provides administrative support by answering the telephone, scheduling appointments, triage emergencies, answering pharmacy related questions and pulling patients charts and files. Interacts with patients by obtaining weight, height, pulse, blood pressure, medical history. Also performs lab work and sends samples to the courier. Performs related duties as assigned in Health Care Services. Work is performed under the direction of the Health Authority and Director of Public Health.
Candidates must possess and maintain an unencumbered Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas. Must have at least two years of experience as a Registered Nurse. Current CPR certification is preferred, or must obtain within 60 days of employment. Strong computer skills are required. Work requires the ability to exercise independent thinking within the limits of policies, standards, and precedents. Bilingual preferred. Must possess and maintain a valid Texas Operator’s Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
