POSITION SUMMARY
To be fully engaged in providing No Harm / Quality, Customer Experience, and Stewardship by ensuring the availability of a full range of high-quality, accurate cardiovascular care, as well as participating in the cost-effective management of the Hospital Interventional Prep and Recovery department in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Oversees daily operations in all areas of interventional prep and recovery areas, manages payroll via KRONOS and daily/monthly reports, ensures staff are providing quality, accurate work and utilizing effective time management (productivity) in doing so.
- Manages operational and capital budgets (paid FTEs as budgeted for volume adjustment), processes requests with justification for additional unit needs outside of established budgets to the Director.
- Monitoring and ordering of unit supplies and equipment with adequate inventory of supplies for departmental needs.
- Responsible for the supervision of all staff related to orientation, on-going education and recommendations related to process of workflow and continuous quality improvement.
- Ensures unit compliance with guidelines of accrediting and regulatory agencies, unit standards of care and practice, and organization policies and procedures.
- Assures that all equipment on the units is operable and safe.
- Responsible for patient satisfaction as evidenced by positive patient satisfaction scores for specific unit.
- Conducts monthly unit meetings with quality assurance issues addressed. Minutes of meetings kept and made available to all staff not in attendance.
- Participates in committees and work groups as assigned.
- Facilitates the development of unit objectives in accordance with measurable goals in areas of quality improvement with monthly reports and ensures education of associates and compliance with quality indicators and core measures.

Work Experience
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing, OR conditional and time limited waiver for Bachelor of Nursing requirement may apply to candidates who enroll in a BSN program within one (1) year of transfer/hire into role
- Licensure: Registered Nurse
- Certification:
- Must hold and maintain current American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider Completion Card
- Must hold and maintain current American Heart Association ACLS Healthcare Provider Completion Card
- Work Experience: Two years acute care clinical experience
- Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Experience with EMR/EHR documentation
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Strong communication skills and professional presence
- Ability to maintain composure in stressful environment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Master’s Degree
- Work Experience: Previous leadership experience in Heart and Vascular services, management of large teams
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Majority of time involves sitting or standing; occasional walking, bending, stooping.
- Long periods of computer time or at workstation.
- Light work that may include lifting or moving objects up to 20 pounds with or without assistance.
- May be exposed to inside environments with varied temperatures, air quality, lighting and/or low to moderate noise.
- Communicating with others to exchange information.
- Visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform tasks.
- Workspace may vary from open to confined.
- May require travel to various facilities within and beyond county perimeter; may require use of personal vehicle.
