To facilitate the provision of patient care by performing specific nursing tasks and other support functions in compliance with hospital policy and procedures as delegated by licensed nursing personnel.
Pre-Employment Requirements:
- We are a drug free facility. Passing a pre-employment drug screening is required.
Education Requirements/Position Requirements (Must be certified in Alabama):
- Validation of a High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Must be able to validate CNA certification.
- Will consider Medical Assistant and teach bedside care.
- Will consider Paramedic/EMT experience and teach bedside care.
- Will consider care technician applicant with at least 3 years of recent patient care experience.
- BLS completion within 90 days of hire date.
- If currently enrolled in a nursing program, completion of Fundamentals of Nursing is a requirement.
- Must be willing to take 2 on-call shifts per schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Rehab experience preferred but not required.
- Provides direct and indirect patient care activities under the direction of Nurse Managers, RN’s and LPN’s.
- Provides for personal care, comfort, and assures patient safety.
- Must be able to arrive no later than 6:30 a.m. and be available to work every other weekend,
- Must be dependable, hardworking, and a team player with a good attitude and professional behavior.
- Applicants will be responsible for vital signs, assisting nursing personnel, and helping patients with basic daily needs.
- Must have the ability to effectively communicate and carry out detailed written or verbal instructions independently.
- Other duties as assigned.
