Seeking Emergency Medicine physician assistants and nurse practitioners.
One year of EM experience required.
Current national certification, DEA, and BLS are required.
ACLS and PALS are preferred.
Current NY state license is a plus.

Level I Trauma Center, STEMI Receiving Center, and Comprehensive Stroke Center.
650-bed facility with 43-bed Emergency Department
All sub-specialties available for backup.
Annual ED volume of 33,000 with approximately 100 patients per day.

Initial patient encounters are in response to consultation requests, and the initial consultation may be followed by one or more visits, as appropriate to the referral questions and status of the patient and family. The care plan advanced by the NP Provider aims to prevent or mitigate illness burden for the patient and family. Each encounter comports with best practices of specialist palliative care, including history-taking, appropriate examination, formulation and care planning, treatment recommendation or implementation, communication, and documentation. Other responsibilities include developing quality initiatives, educating staff, and supporting hospice operations through participation in the provider on call rotation and performance of face to face encounters as needed. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for the provision, coordination, and assurance of comprehensive nursing care using nursing process and pertinent standards of care, the diagnosis of illness and physical conditions, and performance of therapeutic, corrective, and prescriptive measures as appropriate for pediatric heart failure, pediatric VAD, and preoperative and post operative pediatric heart transplant patients, under direct supervision of the Pediatric Transplant Manager. Additionally, this position will be responsible for all pediatric transplant data and registry collection. Job Responsibilities: Performs complete health history, physical examination and psychosocial assessment of pre- and post-operative transplant patients in the outpatient clinic. Monitors and trends the cost effectiveness of the position, particularly as it relates to the efficiency and performance indicators established for the service. Assists in the preparation, implementation, and evaluation of research protocols when applicable. Works collaboratively with nursing and other disciplines in the development and implementation of clinical studies within the area of expertise.
