- Leading and facilitating patient safety initiatives impacting clinical and operational processes throughout the organization. Responsibilities include the review and reduction of medical errors and other factors that contribute to patient harm.
- Working collaboratively with care teams and leaders to develop, deploy and monitor patient safety standard adherence and patient safety improvement processes that ensure safe, clinically effective care.
- Engaging the unit/department based patient safety coaches in process improvement activities and harm reduction strategies.
- Providing on-going support, education and guidance to leaders, team members and physicians on patient safety practices and protocols to mitigate risk of errors that cause patient harm and foster a safety culture across the health system.
- Overseeing and audits safety process adherence and maintains documentation of performance improvement efforts.
- Interacting with clinical and medical leadership to assure the appropriateness and quality of patient care through process improvement activities and peer review.
- Will function as support to various team members (i.e., team leaders, members of the health care team, leadership, etc.) on process improvement activities associated quality.
- Assists with preparation of various meetings such as department meetings, quality meetings, etc.
- May prepare reports on quality activity and ongoing monitoring.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required
Certifications and Licensures:
- RN (Registered Nurse)
- Associates degree in Nursing or Bachelors in Healthcare related
- 3 year nursing
