Work hours: Full-time, 40 hours weekly, holidays and on-call required
Department Highlights
Our experienced and compassionate team in Cardiac Cath / IR Lab care for patients with Cardiac, Peripheral Vascular or Electrophysiology related disease. Additionally, we offer Interventional Radiology procedures such as vascular access, biliary and urinary interventions, and venous and arterial thrombectomy. For our clinical staff, we require a 30-minute call response time which includes STEMI call.
We are a Magnet designated facility, Joint Commission certified in chest pain, heart failure and stroke, certified by the American Association of Cardiovascular & Pulmonary Rehabilitation and Texas Ten Step Member Mother Friendly Worksite.
Education
Here’s What You Need
Nursing Diploma Required or
Associate Degree in Nursing required
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Experience
One (1) year experience as a clinical Registered Nurse in an acute care setting required
Two (2) years’ experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting preferred
Licensure And Certifications
Current Cath Lab/EP Lab experience strongly preferred
RN- Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire required and
BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support (prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly) upon hire required and
ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support within ninety (90) days required

Skills
- A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
- RN must practice within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act, serve as a role model, intra/interdisciplinary collaborator and coordinator for quality patient care
- The professional nurse exhibits understanding of basic human needs and demonstrates recognition and understanding of patient’s affiliations
- Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
- Assesses the patient
- Plans the care of the patient
- Intervenes as appropriate and evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
- Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care
- Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
- Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers
