Job Summary

The Clinical Nurse II will utilize the nursing process to assess and identify the individual needs of Parnassus Neurosurgery non-surgical and surgical patients and navigate them through surgical preparation on what the patient should expect pre-operatively and post-operatively.

The Nurse’s primary role will be to provide clinical support to all neurosurgery patients and physicians at the Parnassus neurosurgery clinic. This individual supports the standards of the policies and procedures of the Neurosurgery Faculty Practice and is responsible for compliance with all UCSF Ambulatory Services and Medical Center policies and procedures for infection control, safety, administrative and clinical practice.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $93.47 - $121.11 (Hourly Rate).

Required Qualifications

  • Two to Three years or more recent related RN experience in interventional radiology, procedures, or PACU required
  • Demonstrated clinical competence and in-depth knowledge in recognizing and escalating acute neurological or post procedural changes in complex patients
  • Experience coordinating care across procedural, inpatient, and outpatient settings
  • Active Registered Nurse licensure in the State of California
  • Active American Heart Association CPR Certification
  • This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • Three (3) years or more of RN clinical experience in-patient neurosurgery
  • Three years or more of RN experience with Stroke patients
  • CCRN Certification (Critical Care Registered Nurse)

License/Certification

  • Active Registered Nurse licensure in the State of California
  • Active American Heart Association CPR Certification
