The Clinical Nursing Supervisor (Registered Nurse) provides clinical leadership, administrative support, and operational oversight for the nursing unit. Collaborates with the Unit Director/Manager to ensure safe, high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and efficient departmental operations. Assumes administrative responsibility in the absence of leadership and supports performance improvement, staff supervision, and patient care coordination.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, direct, and evaluate nursing staff during shifts.
- Support unit operations, staffing, workflow, and resource management.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and hospital regulations.
- Lead performance improvement initiatives and staff training/orientation.
- Communicate with physicians, staff, and administration.
- Assess patient care needs and guide staff in care plan implementation.
- Provide direct patient care as needed within RN scope of practice.
