Department Highlights

- Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team
- 36 bed Orthopedic Trauma/ Joint Replacement Unit in the brand new Justin Tower- Care for patients with joint replacements but may include ortho procedures with a variety of concurrent medical issues such as CHF, COPD, asthma, diabetes, renal failure. This is the dept where the most effective improvements of patients are seen. Great supportive Leadership team
- Here’s What You Need
- Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program
- BSN preferred
- One-year experience as a clinical nurse required.
- Current BLS (required) – expiration date greater than 3 months preferred.
- CPI training within 60 days of hire (required)
- 2+ years of Med/surg or Orthopedic RN experience in acute care setting (preferred)
- Strong med/surg experience including charge/preceptor skills (preferred)
- ONC – Orthopedic Nurse Certified within 2 years (preferred)
- Situational Leadership style/approachable.
Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
- Assesses the patient
- Plans the care of the patient
- Intervenes as appropriate
- Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
- Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
- Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
- Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
