Clinical Nurse Manager - RN – Perioperative Services - Days

As a Perioperative Services Clinical Manager, you will drive efficiency and compassion as well as directly impact the quality of care primarily in PreOp and PACU. Be a part of inspirational and collaborative work amongst your nursing colleagues and leaders. Support the delivery of exceptional care, coordinate patient care throughout, in addition to being an agent of health and hope. You’ll regularly participate in helping to gather staff perspectives to help positively impact the units by mentoring and motivating staff. Partner closely with nursing team leaders on quality measures, guide independent thinking, and patient-focused compassion.

This is a full time position working four days/week Monday-Friday 6:30am-4:30pm at NewYork-Presbyterian/Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital.

Preferred Criteria

Experience as Charge Nurse or Team Lead
Demonstrated nursing leadership experience
Master's Degree in Nursing
Experience in Perioperative Services and/or critical care

Required Criteria

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
2 years of clinical experience
Current New York State RN license (or willingness to obtain)
BCLS certification

About The Team The pediatric critical care service at Atlantic Health System Children's Health provides comprehensive medical care to children, from infants to young adults, with acute life-threatening illnesses and injuries. The Joan and Edward Foley Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Goryeb Children's Hospital at Morristown Medical Center is a 15-bed unit where children stay for postoperative management after major pediatric surgical procedures, including neurosurgical, trauma and orthopedic procedures. All pediatric medical and surgical specialties at our children's hospital are available for consultation in the PICU. The critical care team of the PICU is made up of a team of caregivers from various specialties to provide your child with the best possible care. Our pediatricians and physicians are board-certified in pediatric critical care and provide 24-hour coverage. They have advanced medical training and extensive experience, which allows them to administer the unique medical care that children in a PICU require.

Job Description Responsible for working with other healthcare professionals to help treat patients with various injuries, illnesses or disabilities. Monitors patients, administers medications, keeps records, consults with healthcare providers, educates patients and more. Principal Accountabilities Maintains accurate, complete health care records and reports. Administers medications to patients and monitors them for side effects and reactions. Prescribes assistive medical devices and related treatments. Monitors, reports, and records symptoms or changes in patient conditions. Assesses, implements, plans, or evaluates patient nursing care plans by working with healthcare team members. Records patient vital signs and medical information. Performs other related duties as assigned. Required QUALIFICATIONS Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program. Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse. BLS certification. Preferred Bachelor’s degree in nursing. All ASN must complete their BSN studies within five years of their start date. Master’s degree in nursing or related field. 1+ year of experience in acute care inpatient and critical care Nursing or relevant area. PALS certification.
