Summary of Position:

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) assists licensed staff in the provision of basic nursing care in the Medical/Surgical and Orthopedic unit, utilizing established policies and procedures, ensuring safe and effective care. The CNA demonstrates the skill necessary to meet the needs of patients served in the Medical/Surgical/Orthopedic unit through support of the nursing process; collects patient care data, reports findings, and assists team to meet patient care goals. The CNA is under the supervision of the licensed staff of the unit and reports to the Nurse Manager or designee. This position description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification. Qualifications

Education:

● Completion of nursing assistant program

Experience:

General Description of the Job Class The Nursing Assistant (NA) is a patient care support partner with the Registered Nurse (RN) and/or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and performs work as delegated by the RN or LPN. We have very few pediatric patients annually, compared to the majority of our patients who are Cardiac and Telemetry. We also take care of Post-Operative and General Med/Surg patients.
