Apheresis is a highly specialized procedural area that sees both outpatient and inpatients within pediatric and adult patient populations. Our nurses train to care for procedures consisting of: Myasthenia Gravis, Multiple Myeloma, Lymphoma, Graft VS Host Disease, Cutaneous T-Cell Lymphoma, Bronchiolitis Obliterans, Sickle Cell, Neuroblastoma, Germ Cell Tumor, and Leukemia. Our department comprises of 8 beds at University Hospital, 3 at Riley Hospital, and a storage supply at Methodist for inpatient use. Weekends and holidays are an on-call basis and rotated between nurses.

 

Qualifications:

  • Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
  • Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program. Exceptions: Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience. Such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).    
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.     
  • Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.

Job Summary The Medical Oncology Office Registered Nurse (RN) prepares and assists physicians or advance practice providers in the examination and treatment of patients in the medical office. Job Summary The Registered Nurse, Emergency Department is responsible for handling initial patient assessments, performing laboratory work, point of care testing and administrative tasks associated with the delivery of patient care.
