Position Summary
The Medical Assistant performs routine clinical and administrative duties in support of the assigned physician practice or clinic. This role supports providers in delivering quality patient care while ensuring efficient daily operations within the clinic setting.

 

Schedule
- Full Time

- 72 hours per pay period
- Day shift (clinic hours based on department needs)

 

Education Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent - Required
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent - Required

 

Licensure & Certification
- CCMA, CMA, or RMA - Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 60 days of hire

Essential Functions

Clinical Responsibilities
- Assist physicians or nurses with patient assessments and treatments
- Perform basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection
- Monitor patients and communicate changes in condition
- Document patient care accurately in the medical record

Operational Responsibilities
- Maintain medical equipment and supplies (reorder, stock, clean, troubleshoot)
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms

Administrative Responsibilities
- Perform clerical duties including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration

How you’ll make an impact in this role Coordinate seamless patient visits by preparing treatment environments and conducting initial screenings to ensure every individual feels welcomed and ready for care Capture the patient’s story by accurately documenting vital signs and care journeys, providing the medical team with the high-quality data needed for precise clinical decisions. Facilitate essential treatments by transcribing and processing orders for labs and imaging, ensuring patients receive the follow-up services they need without delay. What minimum requirements you’ll need Licensure / Certification / Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
