JOB SUMMARY

The Medical Assistant functions as an important member of the healthcare team by providing basic clinical, clerical, and technical support to assist providers in planning for patients’ care, comfort, and safety. Minimum Required: High School diploma or equivalent and one of the following:

Graduate of a Medical Assistant program
Documented successful completion of the following courses or (their recognized course equivalent):
o Medical Terminology from an accredited institution or completed on line through Universal Class.
o Anatomy & Physiology or Body Structure & Function or Human Body in Health & Disease from an accredited institution or completed on line through Universal Class.
o Pharmacology from an accredited institution. 
Two years of Medical Assistant-related work experience and completion of the required educational courses listed above within the first 12 months from hire.
