Registered Nurse - Limited Part Time - Admissions Team

UPMC St. Margaret Hospital is currently hiring an Experienced Registered Nurse to join our Admissions team in a limited part-time capacity. This position will work rotating 4- and 8-hour shifts for a total of 16 hours per week. Shift times include 3pm-11pm on weekdays and 8am-4pm or 8am-12pm on required weekends. Weekends will be every 4th weekend but is subject to change depending on scheduling needs of the department. In addition to the normal schedule, there will be 1 holiday required per year. Experienced nurses who are interested in applying must have a minimum of 2 years of experience within a Medical/Surgical Unit to qualify.

This position will primarily support the Admissions team, focusing on admission assessments, medication reconciliation, and mobility evaluations - mainly within the Emergency Department. Duties will expand to include patients admitted throughout the hospital after training. Other duties required of this position will be assisting physicians with entering admission orders, preforming skin assessments on newly admitted patients, providing care for patients in the Emergency Department holding areas, supporting discharge process across the hospital, and assisting with the facilitation of teleneurology visits through the hospital - primarily during scheduled weekends.

Accountability Reports directly to the Director of Nursing and/or Executive Director. The Registered Nurse Case Manager will work under the direction of the Director of Nursing. IV. On Call The Hospice Nurse will be on call according to scheduling. During the hours when on call, the Visit Nurse is expected to follow On Call Protocol and to respond to all pages within 20 minutes.
