Description 

The Nursing Assistant II (NA II) is an entry-level position specifically designed for current nursing students aiming to enrich their preparation for a nursing career. Under the guidance of an experienced nurse, you will acquire valuable hands-on experience by providing safe, efficient, age-specific care to patients and families in order to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and/or sustain optimal health status.  The role is designed to build upon the experience gained in the classroom and during clinical rotations.

A Brief Overview
Works under the direction of a responsible RN to provide safe, efficient, age-specific nursing care to patients and families in order to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and/or sustain optimal health status.

The department provides CES nurses financial support for ENPC, ACLS, PALS, TNCC and CPEN as well as in-depth orientation and continuing education. This position is approximately six (6) months total interval spaced internship program, which prepares the new Graduate Nurses for a RN position in the Children's Emergency Services (CES). Orientation includes a combination of classroom and precepted clinical experience. A two year commitment to CES is required after the completion of the internship program. During the internship, Graduate Nurses may work day shift, evening shift, or night shift depending on preceptor availability. Job Summary Children's Emergency Services (CES) is a primary entry point for children 0-20 years of age admitted to CS Mott Children's Hospital, a verified Level One pediatric trauma center and tertiary facility with referrals from across the state. We have been awarded the Lantern Award for nursing excellence. We are a state of the art, 41 bed pediatric emergency department including 6 bed observation unit located in the new children's hospital. CES nurses partner with board certified pediatric emergency medicine faculty and pediatric residents to provide expert family centered care for over 40,000 children who present each year with injuries and illness across the range of acuity from minor to critical care. The department provides CES nurses financial support for ENPC, ACLS, PALS, TNCC and CPEN as well as in-depth orientation and continuing education. This position is approximately six (6) months total interval spaced internship program, which prepares the new Graduate Nurses for a RN position in the Children's Emergency Services (CES). Orientation includes a combination of classroom and precepted clinical experience. A two year commitment to CES is required after the completion of the internship program. During the internship, Graduate Nurses may work day shift, evening shift, or night shift depending on preceptor availability.
