Marshfield Clinic Health System is seeking a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner in Marshfield, Wisconsin to:

Attend high risk deliveries and provide medical management as a member of our multi-disciplinary group. Perform routine clinical procedures independently including providing resuscitation and stabilization of newborn, endotracheal tube placement/intubation, PICC line insertion, umbilical catheter insertion (arterial/venous), peripheral arterial line insertion, chest tube insertion and removal, thoracentesis, lumber puncture, double or partial volume exchange transfusion and neonatal transport.

This role will be a shift model consisting of 12 or 24 hour shifts.

Department Details

Marshfield Medical Center is a Level II Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center and has northern and central Wisconsin's only children's hospital. The campus includes 314 inpatient beds with a 24 bed pediatrics unit, and our Level III NICU has cared for thousands of high-risk infants from 24-42 weeks gestational-age for more than 50 years

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s Degree as a Nurse Practitioner or Doctor of Nurse Practitioner
Successful completion of a formal nurse practitioner program that prepares neonatal nurse practitioners and awards graduate degrees. The program shall be accredited by a Commission on Collegiate Nursing (CCNE) or National League of Nursing Accrediting Council (NLNAC)
License requirement- Active RN license and an Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber Certification for the State of WI.

The APP (Advanced Practice Provider) will be involved in providing highly intensive care to the most critically ill babies in the state. Our facility offers a 37,000 square feet Level IV NICU, a specialized transport team, state of the art technologies in our delivery rooms and world class high-risk OB, Neonatology and Subspeciality teams. About University Of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital has been dedicated to meeting the health care needs of children and families since 1919. As Iowa’s only comprehensive children’s hospital, we provide care for children from birth to young adulthood. Services range from promoting wellness to the care of general childhood illness, surgery, traumatic injuries, life-threatening and chronic illnesses, and developmental disabilities. UI Stead Family Children's Hospital is a state-of-the-art pediatric facility that is part of the comprehensive resources of UI Health Care. Our physical facilities grew considerably in 2017. Consistent with our philosophy of patient- and family-centered health care, the new hospital was designed by, with, and for pediatric patients and families. About Neonatology UI Stead Family Children's Hospital is home to Iowa's only Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The nationally recognized Division of Neonatology within the Stead Family Department of Pediatrics is committed to providing innovative, comprehensive, high-quality care from our team of physicians, advanced registered nurse practitioners, RNs and others that results in the best outcomes for children cared for in the NICU. Each year, approximately 900 babies receive a range of neonatal services in the NICU, which is annually ranked among the top NICUs in the country and has grown to 88 beds with the opening of UI Stead Family Children's Hospital. Education Required Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP): A Current RN license from the State of Iowa is required. A Current ARNP license from the State of Iowa is required. Physician Assistant (PA) Must comply with registration and licensure requirements as specified by the Iowa Board of Physician Assistant Examiners which includes graduation from an accredited PA education program and/or certification by the NCCPA. Experience Requirements Two years' experience in neonatology is required. National certification as NNP (National Exam) is required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Desirable Qualifications Demonstrated Level III/VI NICU experience Demonstrated clinical excellence through published articles and/or clinical presentations Demonstrated experience providing overall medical care and provide medical management for patients in an inpatient setting. Demonstrated experience exercising autonomy in medical decision-making and services provided. Demonstrated experience managing length of stay, improve resource utilization and decrease costs to patients and the institution while providing personalized care. Professional experience working effectively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives. Demonstrated experience in clinical care of pediatrics. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification. DEA License.
