Medical Assistant Float Bilingual - Central Houston (Job Overview)
Schedule: Monday-Friday (8AM-5PM)

Key Responsibilities
- Interview patients to gather medical information and measure vital signs, weight, and height.
- Record detailed medical history and patient information accurately.
- Collect and process blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens for analysis.
- Assist physicians during patient examinations for seamless patient care.
- Prepare and maintain treatment rooms to ensure readiness for examinations.
- Clean, sterilize, and manage instruments and equipment.
- Conduct phone consultations with clients regarding test results.
- Perform phlebotomy and other diagnostic tests as required.
- Administer medications as prescribed by healthcare providers.
- Ensure meticulous documentation of all patient care activities.
- Maintain stocked exam rooms with necessary supplies.
- Participate actively in the Performance Improvement Program.
- Promote effective working relations and teamwork.
- Operate equipment safely and report any safety concerns promptly.
- Follow exposure control plans for bloodborne pathogens.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- BLS/CPR Certification required.
- Up to one year experience required; up to three years experience preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and customer service skills.
- Basic front desk, clerical or healthcare support specialist skills/experience.
- Ability to work with clinical staff and multitask within a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience working with computers and Microsoft Office applications.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Phlebotomy skills preferred.
- Experience with electronic medical records preferred.
