School Registered Nurse | Liberty, Missouri

This opportunity is for a Registered Nurse with recent experience, to provide comprehensive school health services within a vibrant school district located in Liberty, MO. This contract position offers a unique role floating among various schools, supporting students from PreK-12 with general health room care. You will have the autonomy to manage your assigned health room independently after an initial training period, making critical health decisions and ensuring the well-being of all students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Float between schools within the district, managing one schools health room independently after training
  • Provide nursing care for students in PreK-12, handling a variety of health needs
  • Adapt to flexible and sometimes changing schedules ranging between 7:00 AM2:30 PM and 9:00 AM4:30 PM
  • Utilize computer-based charting systems for accurate and timely documentation
  • Communicate effectively with school staff and families as needed
  • Respond promptly and professionally to fluctuating school needs including schedule changes due to field trips or staffing

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Valid Missouri RN license with a clear record on Nursys (no license hits)
  • Recent Pediatric nursing experience, preferably in ICU, ER, or school settings
  • Strong technological proficiency with electronic health record systems
  • Comfort in working independently and making autonomous clinical decisions
  • Flexibility and adaptability to varied school environments and schedules
  • At least one year of nursing experience; new graduates will not be considered

Location: Liberty, Missouri (no travel candidates accepted)

Schedule: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week with variable shifts depending on school assignment

This contracting role is ideal for a confident and experienced school RN comfortable with managing health rooms independently while serving a diverse student population across multiple school sites.
