This position offers the unique opportunity to float throughout a school districts health rooms, providing care to students from Pre-K through 12th grade. Training is provided alongside an experienced nurse for two weeks, after which the nurse will independently manage their assigned health room, making critical decisions and delivering quality care.

Key responsibilities include:

Providing direct nursing care and health assessments to students across multiple school settings
Managing and documenting student health records electronically with accuracy and attention to detail
Coordinating with school staff and families regarding student health concerns and emergency situations
Adapting to a flexible weekly schedule that typically ranges from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with varying start times depending on school level and daily needs
Floating between schools within the district, sometimes with schedule adjustments on short notice
Operating independently as the sole RN at a facility, ensuring compliance with district health policies and procedures

Required qualifications:

Current Missouri RN licensure with a clean record verified through Nursys
Recent experience in pediatrics, ideally in ICU, ER, or school nursing environments; new graduates are not eligible
Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently in a school health setting
Comfortable working with technology for electronic health records and communication
Flexibility to manage varying schedules and school age groups from Pre-K through high school
