Located on the eighth floor of St. Michael Medical Center, this 32-bed (private room) telemetry-capable unit specializes in post-surgical care (bariatric, general, GYN, urology) and overflow medical patients, serving adolescents to geriatric populations.
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will be a pivotal healthcare professional, delivering compassionate, high-quality care that truly impacts our patients' well-being and recovery. Every day, you will leverage your expertise to provide individualized, comprehensive care, making critical assessments, performing skilled procedures, and meticulously implementing patient care plans. You'll collaborate seamlessly within an interdisciplinary team, contributing to a dynamic environment focused on optimal patient outcomes.
- The expert nursing team operates with tailored staff-to-patient ratios, collaborating with Peri-Op teams and utilizing continuous education to provide high-quality care, with assignments based on patient acuity, complexity, and staff skill mix. All nursing staff maintain competency through continuing education, department in-services, and annual updates of unit specific competencies.
- Clinical Care & Assessment: Provides holistic, evidence-based nursing care, including patient assessments, medication administration, and discharge planning in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Documentation & Compliance: Accurately documents patient care, adheres to hospital policies, and ensures timely execution of physician orders.
- Professionalism & Competence: Maintains professional growth, accountability for mandatory requirements, and cultural competence to meet the specific needs of patient populations.
Job Requirements
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
Registered Nurse license: WA
Minimum 6 months previous RN experience required.
Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification.
Preferred:
BSN degree
One year of related work experience in an acute care setting is preferred.
Specialty certification, as appropriate to the assigned work unit, is strongly preferred.
