Position: Clinical Nurse Specialist-System Cardiology
Department: Advance Practice Nurses
Facility: Miami Valley Hospital
Shift: Full-time Days 8:00am-4:30pm/ 80 Hours Per Pay
The System Cardiology APRN is committed to evidence-based practice, professional standards of care, and code of ethics. The APRN functions in a versatile role that demonstrates professionalism and promotes excellence and autonomy in the practice of Nursing. The APRN has in–depth knowledge of evidence-based practice within a specialty that results in competencies to expand the boundaries of nursing practice by, (a) addressing illness and promoting population health, (b) advancing the practice of other nurses and (c) developing organizational/system modifications to support and improve the practice of nursing.
The APRN acts as a consultant, researcher and educator to the patient, family, healthcare organization and community to assist patients to attain their maximum level of health in a manner sensitive to social and cultural diversity. The role of an APRN may vary based upon qualifications through licensure, accreditation, certification, education and job expectations.
The APRN collaborates with inter-disciplinary team and advocates for an optimal experience for patients/families. They provide physical, emotional and spiritual support which impacts patient outcomes in a safe environment. The APRN supports leadership by driving current and future development, implementation, and evaluation of hospital-based patient safety and quality initiatives. Which may include but is not limited to: Monitoring, interpreting, & disseminating quality performance data, Assisting in the tactical execution and management of the CV Program (s) by coordinating the overall program, ensuring processes are in place to provide seamless operations and patient flow for the clinical activities, and Assist leadership to establishment of short and long-term strategies related to achieve hospital and service line objectives.

Minimum Level of Education Required: Master's degree

Preferred educational qualifications: Clinical Nurse Specialist or must be willing to obtain a degree as a Clinical Nurse Specialist with in 3 years of hire.

License to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Ohio
Valid license to practice as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio or with in 3 years of hire.
Current CPR certification required at the time of hire
National Certification as an Advance Practice Nurse or active Certificate if Authority or must obtain with in 3 years of hire

Minimum Level of Experience Required: 3 years of experience caring for cardiovascular patients

Preferred experience: Three to five years of APRN experience
