Learn About a Day In the Life of a Surgical Tech:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of sterile technique, sterilization procedures, principles of surgical procedures, anatomy and physiology, use and care of surgical instruments and equipment. 
  • Assist the surgical team in accomplishing the plan of surgical care.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes.
  • Understand the surgery schedule work-flow and is available to meet the needs for room turnovers, patient transport, and cleaning.

Job Requirements:

  • Graduate from an accredited surgical technology program.
  • NBSTSA or NCCT Certified Surgical Technologist.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • One year of surgical technologist experience.

Prepare surgical operating suite with sterile drapes and sterile solutions as well as appropriate sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.
