Nurse Manager Gyn Oncology/Breast Health 40D

Job Summary: Nurse Manager-nurse leaders with 24 hour accountability and responsibility for a direct care unit or units-provide the vital link between the administrative strategic plan and the point of care. The nurse manager is responsible for creating safe, healthy environments that support the work of the health care team and contribute to patient environments that support the work of the health care team and contribute to patient engagement. The role is influential; in creating a professional environment and fostering a culture where interdisciplinary team members’ area able to contribute to optimal patient outcomes and grow professionally.

The Nurse Manager holds authority, responsibility, and accountability for the nursing administration and clinical practice within the Gyn/Oncology and Breast Health Outpatient Programs. This role involves developing and implementing program goals and objectives, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, communicating patient care standards, and coordinating care delivery to support program objectives. The Nurse Manager also collaborates closely with oncology programs and infusion units across Care New England operating units.

Key responsibilities include monitoring departmental budgets in partnership with the practice administrator, promoting staff development, managing human resources, overseeing clinical staff scheduling, and performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required; Master’s degree in Nursing preferred.
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Rhode Island.
• Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification required within one year of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Supervisory and management experience in a hospital or healthcare setting required.
• Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills (oral and written).
• Proficiency in computer applications.
