Job Summary
The Total Joint Navigator serves in a coordinating role and delivers direct patient care to the Hip and Knee Arthroplasty population. This clinician is experienced and highly skilled with an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the osteoarthritis and total joint replacement, the major treatment modalities, symptom management, surgical care and patient education. At this operational level, the nurse proactively embraces the Orthopaedic Society/Standards of Orthopaedic Nursing practice to utilize the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care. The nurse utilizes an interdisciplinary approach across the continuum of care with adherence to National Patient Safety Goals set forth by regulatory requirements. The nurse is recognized and utilized as a clinical resource and demonstrates investment in the overall forward movement of the unit and the organization. The nurse is responsible for bringing together the multidisciplinary efforts of the Surgeons, Advance Health Practitioners, Clinic Staff, Residents, Fellow, IP Nursing Staff, PT/OT, Case Management, Pharmacy and all other ancillary and support departments to ensure a high quality, coordinated, and satisfying experience for the patient. The Navigator will be involved with department and Health System quality metrics and Bundled Care Program.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $93.47 - $121.11 (Hourly Rate).

Required Qualifications
- Two (2) or more years of recent RN clinical Total Joint (Arthroplasty) Nursing experience
- This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.
- Certification in Orthopaedic Nursing
- Case management experience
- Active Registered Nurse licensure in the State of California
- Active American Heart Association CPR Certification
