Job Summary

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $84.78 - $109.85 (Hourly Rate).

Required Qualifications

  • Two (2) or more years of recent direct patient care as an RN.
  • Proficient in Blood transplant and cellular therapy.
  • Ability to triage basic oncology symptoms and issues related to oncology treatments.
  • Experience administering infusions, pain management, transfusion therapy, hydration, etc.
  • Current Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Certification within 6 months of hire date
  • Knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to this position
  • Must be able to function under stress and with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must demonstrate effective skills in applying hospital standards in area of service, team work, communication, respect for others, and time/priority management. See also Living Pride Standards
  • Ability to delegate tasks in a style that is consistent with promoting leadership and teamwork, seeking assistance as needed; ability to demonstrate leadership experience that supports teamwork, professionalism, high quality patient experience, evidence based clinical practice, or other relevant topics
  • Demonstrates ability to develop and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with physicians, nurses, and other medical staff. Contributes to team building through participation in unit programs and meetings; contributes to positive morale, using constructive and effective conflict resolution skills
  • Demonstrates ability to remain current in professional and technical knowledge and apply this to the job; looks for opportunities for continual improvement in patient care, the work environment, and a commitment to lifelong learning in the field of nursing

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three (3) or more years of adult Oncology nursing experience
  • OCN Certification or other relevant specialty certification
  • Experience administering chemotherapy/biotherapy.
  • Membership in professional organizations is recommended
  • Chemotherapy Biotherapy Certification prior to hire

License/Certification

  • Active Registered Nurse licensure in the State of California
  • Active American Heart Association CPR Certification
  • Current Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Certification within 6 months of hire date.
