Initiates implementation of processes and has access to all operational components of the office as required by daily operations. Access to operational components of a practice includes access to physician’s office, medical records, medical supplies and locked drug closets/refrigerators.

Requirements:

LPN/CMA by the state of Virginia.
CPR certified.
Previous physician office experience preferred.
Ability to meet physical and mental requirements of a fast paced physician practice

OB/Labor and Delivery Technician - LPN

Under the guidance and direction of a Registered Nurse, the OB technician is responsible for assisting in the nursing care and surgical services in the maternity services area including the provision of patient care necessary for comfort, hygiene, data collection, and documentation. Activities are based on accepted standards of operating room and obstetrical practice and are performed within the scope of education, training, and experience. The OB Technician is responsible to maintain current knowledge of trends in the operating room, including new products, procedures, and physicians' techniques. Performs indirect and direct patient care of the neonate, and female patients under the direct supervision of a RN. Provides patient care support, maintenance of nursing unit, housekeeping and dietary tasks, and clerical support for the nursing unit. Applies and shares knowledge with others.
