Responsibilities

Performs psychiatric examinations and evaluations, diagnoses, treatment, follow-up consultation and health education
Works closely with the BHD and/or BHPs in identifying appropriate treatment plans for at-risk patients, or as needed
Intermittently attends morning huddle calls, when indicated and/or when there are high-risk patients that require multidisciplinary treatment planning and collaboration
Obtains patient histories, follows up with medication verification efforts, reviews pertinent medical history and develops patient care treatment plans, ensuring completeness and accuracy using the POMR format
Provides support in coordinating the activities of patient care and/or support staff
Participates in developing specific mental health policies and procedures, when indicated

Qualifications

Current state license as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Current CPR certificate
Two (2) years of experience in psychiatric and/or correctional healthcare setting
Proficient with electronic medical records
Ability to pass pre-employment Level 2 clearance to include background check and drug screen

This position will support the agency's mission by promoting early identification and treatment of behavioral health needs, reducing barriers to care, and improving students' emotional well-being, academic success, and overall functioning. As a member of the interdisciplinary team, the psychiatric nurse practitioner will also collaborate with medical providers, behavioral health clinicians, school personnel, families and community partners to deliver coordinated, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed care in a safe and supportive environment. In addition, the psychiatric nurse practitioner will serve as the clinical lead of the SBHC BH team, providing oversight, consultation, and coordination of care to ensure integrated, high-quality services for students.
